Getting to the Celebration Made Simple

Whether you're flying in, driving down, or already planning your playlist for the road trip — we've gathered all the essential travel info to make your journey to San Carlos easy and stress-free. Below you'll find tips on flights, border crossings, and local transportation once you're here.

Take Off

Flying to San Carlos

Most guests fly into Hermosillo International Airport (HMO), which offers more frequent and affordable options. Hermosillo is about a 1-hour drive from San Carlos.

  • Major airlines flying into Hermosillo include: Volaris, Aeroméxico, VivaAerobus, American Airlines.

  • From Hermosillo, you can rent a car, book a shuttle, or join one of the group vans we’ll be organizing (see below!).

Pro tip: Book flights early, especially if you're traveling around a holiday weekend.

Driving to San Carlos

If you’re up for a scenic road trip, driving to San Carlos is a fun and flexible way to travel — especially if you're coming from the Southwest.

  • From Phoenix, AZ: approx. 7 hours

  • From Tucson, AZ: approx. 5 hours

The most common route is through the Nogales, Arizona border crossing, then heading south on Highway 15D, a toll road that takes you straight to Guaymas/San Carlos. The drive is smooth and safe, with plenty of gas stations and rest stops along the way.

What you'll need:

  • A valid passport

  • Mexican car insurance (you can purchase short-term coverage online)

  • Toll fees: Bring cash (pesos preferred) for the toll booths along Highway 15D.

If you're traveling with friends or family, it can be a great way to make the journey part of the adventure!
